Description
The Warrior Games are paralympic-style competitions between wounded veterans across all branches of the U.S. military. Typically taking place on private bases over the years, for the first time in the summer of 2017 they would be public-facing in the host city, Chicago, across multiple pro venues like Soldier Field and the United Center. Each year a specific branch of the military runs the games, and in 2017 our client was The United States Navy.
With a fully integrated, city-wide campaign (print campaign featuring the photography of Jeff Sciortino and hand-lettering by Holly Dickens), our aim was two-fold: turn the perception of a physically and mentally damaged population 180° demonstrating that these are proud athletes worth celebrating, and rally the city to get butts in seats to see this athletes in action.
50,000+ attendees later, we did just that.
